Successful tenderers for Science and Language Centre construction announced
The NSW Government has awarded 10 new tenders for the design and construction of 66 new
Nation Building funded Science and Language centres in NSW high schools. It is projected that this program will sustain 500 jobs a year over two years across NSW. Read more
Exemption from Development Contributions for all Nation Building funded Projects
To ensure there is consistency across all stimulus funded applications, including those approved under the EP&A Act, the Minister for Planning issued a Direction under section 94E of the EP&A Act on 9th September 2009. The Direction exempts all stimulus funded projects from the payment of development contributions. Read more
Handover of completed properties to Community Housing Groups
To date, 11 redevelopment projects containing 38 homes have been handed over to the management of six different Community Housing providers under Stage 1. Sites include Springfield, Toronto, Cabramatta, Edgeworth, Watanobbi and Lismore.  Read more
Stage 2 Housing projects starting on existing Housing NSW land
Unlike Stage 1, which involved bringing forward for construction social housing dwellings that were already planned and approved, Stage 2 involves starting projects from scratch and redeveloping on existing Housing NSW land and also involved a Request for Tender for new construction and the spot purchase of house and land packages. Read more
Changes to the Nation Building and Jobs Plan Act user guidelines
Some minor amendments have been made to the user guidelines in the Housing section. Read more
Housing NSW and planning reforms
The NSW Government's new State Environmental Planning Policy (Affordable Rental Housing) 2009 (AHSEPP) is designed to increase the amount and diversity of affordable housing in NSW. Read more
