Apprenticeships on the Central Coast
All Nation Building funded projects are required to employ apprentice labour. A local apprentice has been given a second chance to complete his apprenticeship by securing work on one of the first Building the Education Revolution (BER) projects underway on the Central Coast.

The previously out of work apprentice has now gained employment through a partnership formed between local group training company NovaSkill, Bovis Lend Lease; and contractor Stevens Construction from Erina. He is now part of the team constructing a new hall and covered outdoor learning area (COLA) at Tacoma Public School. The $2 million investment in the school is part of the $3.4 billion BER program in NSW.

Bovis Lend Lease is the Managing Contractor for the design and construction of new facilities and refurbishments of the 250 schools in the Hunter and Central Coast region, with Stevens Construction appointed to deliver works at Tacoma Public School. A total of $400 million will be invested in Hunter and Central Coast schools.
