| Managing Contractor model proving successful
The Managing Contractor model has proven to be a most effective system for delivering Primary Schools for the 21st Century (P21) Building the Education Revolution (BER) projects in schools. 2009 involved a massive effort to get projects started and work underway on site. With more than 1400 projects now underway, the program has established a great deal of momentum.
The rate of project starts required for the remaining 1000 projects in 2010 is just as demanding as the rate that was required for 2009. In addition, 2010 will see second and third work fronts emerging - increased construction in the schools and the process of completions and handovers. Both of these work fronts will require all Managing Contractors to continue to commit significant resources.
